What Do We Do?
Mobilize. Implement. Transform.
Black Professionals make up less than 1% of the theatrical workforce. Black Theatre Coalition is working to increase the numbers.
BTC has secured partnerships with top companies and professionals across every major sector of the Broadway and theatrical ecosystem, including producers, designers, directors, general managers, casting directors, press agents, advertising & marketing executives, booking agents, attorneys, and theater companies. These partnerships are critical to creating, building and implementing BTC’s sustainable program model and changing the landscape in the American Theatre.
These accomplices list below have agreed to work with BTC to (1) identify Black candidates for employment in their offices, (2) implement paid apprentice programs for Black Creatives, (3) create paid fellowships and/or create leadership positions in their offices and hire paid Black professionals on future Broadway and theatrical projects.
We are also partnering with sister organizations, including Broadway Advocacy Coalition, Broadway Serves, Broadway For Racial Justice, WSY and MUSE. Collaboration is essential and we look forward to working with any other organizations who are working toward real and lasting change.
