Harvardwood was created in 1999 by three Harvardians: producer Stacy Cohen, film/TV executive Adam Fratto, and then-student Mia Riverton.  Harvardwood coordinates career-enhancing and community-building programs and events for its members around the world, including on- and off-campus activities for students.  Additionally, Harvardwood has an active online community, including a website, alumni directory and various email lists through which our 10,000+ members worldwide can send and receive information regarding career-related issues, job opportunities, cultural & social events, classified ads, and other areas of interest.

Harvardwood has Chapters in Boston, Chicago, Georgia, London, Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington, D.C., and there are members throughout other parts of North America as well as Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.   Our membership includes alums from the class of 1955 as well as current first-year students.  Members work in or study fields ranging from film and television to theatre, music, radio, sports, broadcast news, internet, design, visual arts, and entertainment law.

In 2002, Harvardwood incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. Harvardwood is not financially supported by Harvard University or related entities.  As a mainly volunteer-run organization, individual donations are of great importance to our ongoing operations.  Donations of funds, property, or other assets are tax-deductible and go toward supporting our events, programs, and online services.  If you are interested in making a tax-deductible financial or in-kind contribution to Harvardwood, please visit our donations page or email the Executive Director of Harvardwood, Dona Le.  Please include your name or company and contact information. A representative will contact you for further information and to discuss your contribution.
